IT IS HAPPENING  AGAIN

—after david lynch

carmine curtain
let that soft hemoglobin trickle
down slacked limbs

blueblack face
punctured beetle blood
sub-dermal oozing

i have been desecrated
human compost in my hair
filled with your waste

this inky thing within me
throbbing and dancing
feasting on my meat

he wants to peel my flesh
shed this human rind
unveil some animal inside of me

this constant scratching
slicing my stiff veins
all crystal clogged

sloshing out my ears
that slow leaky sink drip
seeking tender bruises

hidden hemorrhage
revealed to me in a dream
an unintelligible secret

perhaps tomorrow
i’ll understand that lullaby
from beneath the sand
